There’s no time like the present to just jump in and start writing as this will be an iterative process. Or maybe call this an experiment to see what gains traction.
I have a tendency to use metaphors a lot. Some are more successful than others and I occasionally muddle them. Stepping into a muddled metaphor can help lighten the conversation tone, if everyone is game for a laugh. So maybe for the moment this is similar to the demolition phase of a landscaping renovation. I don’t have the final drawings for what to plant in the garden. I need to start by cleaning up the area to understand what I have to work with. Then I’ll pull together plants (resources) to see what’s available, and spread them around to see what works before digging too many holes. Maybe I’ll dig a few holes, change my mind, and then dig new holes.
OK, I’ll admit it, car metaphors easier to use to explain budget vs final features (or the scope of problems the platform can solve). Who says this can’t also be fun?
