A crow, seriously?
I was watering the flowers in the front garden the other week when a crow landed on a roof, watching what I was doing. They drove me crazy in the past for getting at the trash and tossing paper towels everywhere. I don’t see crows as much these days now that I live a coastal community so this visit stuck with me.
Here’s the thing about crows, they’re a lot smarter than people realize. They can think critically and even use tools to solve a problem. They learn and they remember. They’re black, but have a blue shine. Crows are also know for being mischievous. There’s a lot more to these birds that make them more interesting if you’re willing to take a moment and listen.
After a recent consulting project I realized that I really missed product management and design, along with being deeply involved in the bigger picture. I started to ponder on what do next on how to scratch that itch. Ultimately I decided my first step is to write and tweet on the subject. We’ll see where this goes, but in the meantime this thing needed a name.
The dots somehow connected in my mind, probably triggered by that recent crow visit, and I landed on a crow mascot. You’re probably thinking this is just odd. And maybe it is, but let’s do something a bit unusual. A bit memorable. A bit fun. A bit thought provoking. Challenging some preconceived notions? Most definitely.
So welcome to the ProductCrow, exploring product management and design from a user experience (UX) perspective.
